It really depends. Their are a lot of factors to consider and things that need to be figured out before we can decide that.

As far as calories you need to make sure tht you are burning more calories then you are taking in.

To help stimulate your metabolism make sure that you eat something within 30 minutes of waking up in the morning. It doesn't need to be much but it will help get your metabolism going. Also break down your meals and eat 4 or 5 smaller meals/snacks during the day instead of just eating 2 or 3 large meals. Also make sure that you are drinking pleanty of water.

Finally, exercise! the more you can exercise the quicker you will reach your goal of becoming a 6-8. Find a type of exercise that you like and stick with it. Even just starting at walking a half an hour a day at first will help especially if you do not do much physical activity right now.

If you have any more questions or would like some more help just contact me and I will gladly help you out.

Goodluck!

Check with your doctor before you begin a diet or exercise program. It depends on how regularly and how intensely you exercise and what kind of a diet you maintain. If you eat only healthy foods, with lots of greens and beans, very few carbs, and only baked or boiled fish and/or chicken, run at least a mile every other day, and work your upper body every other day, you could be ready in as little as 2 weeks. Drink lots of water -- just plain water -- maybe 6 to 10 ounces per hour. Don't count calories and don't count pounds. Both are misleading. What matters most is whether you look good and remain healthy. You could actually put on weight and have a curvier figure and healthier body than before.
