The last time I was there, Romanian was the official language. Hungarian is also spoken by some people. I think the Gypsies speak Romany. Not too many people speak English.

Hungarian German and Romani cover up small minority groups.
German spoken by people who left Germany as refugees after WWII.
AS a second language a lot of people choose Russian in their schools.
