For Christmas, i got an Aiptek Digital video camera. Now, my computer i have right now is real old and slow. I need to get an inexpensive computer for wat i want to do. Obviously photos and videos. So i need a site for a computer that is fast, inexpensive, and that is semi-good(good condition) thanx

My minimum recommendation for a PC for Digital video is as follows:

3 Ghz or better CPU
1 Gb RAM
250 Gb Disk
DVD Reader
DVD Burner
Fireware

Buy the biggest box you can because DV takes up a lot of disk space and consumes a lot of resources.

Well the thing is, what are your computer's specs? I mean slow doesnt necessarily mean bad, and adding ram will often speed a computer up. If you plan on getting a new computer, go for a dual core rather than a single core. Well ok it depends really. If you just plan on using windows movie maker for editing, you dont really need a dual core unless youre planning to do something while your movie is rendering (in the media world, we take mini vacations when its rendering, as it usually takes days). A dual core doesnt mean a faster computer, just better multitasking, and for programs that support it, better performance (such as pro editing programs that support multi processor rendering). So if you just want faster performance in general, and plan on using just windows movie maker, get a fast (2.66 or above) single core. 512 ram is okay, although 1 GB will definitely help. As for hard drive, get one with a good sized hard drive (at least 80 gigs). More storage comes at a price, but if its cheaper than buying another hard drive, get it. And get a dvd burner and firewire port. Hope this helps!

I have an Aiptek and do editing too, with no problem here:

2.0 Ghz or better CPU
512MB RAM
160 Gb Disk
DVD Reader
DVD Burner
USB

You need to get TmpGenc software to convert that mp4 to something that you can work with easier.
