night vision on my camcorder?

Ok so the night vision on my camera is horriable, it dost work well unless you get really close up. I know i can go out and buy like an adapter for my camera that will help but i dont feel like paying $130 right now. I was wondering if there was any software or video editing program that would have like a filter that would change the video into night vision(im talking about the typical green night vision). I know i can use a program to brighten a video but i was wondering if any programs had a night vision filter.

Did you know that night vision is actually illuminated with infrared light emanating from your camera sending unit and you don't see with the necked aye , that's why it does not take the picture too far away , and the picture is of greenish colour , is the nature of the system .
