if one has stayed in the uk longer than 6 months, and buys a ticket to go back to their country, will they be deported? do they actually look to see how long you have been in the country? if some one has web page links that would be helpful. if one is going to be deorted anyway, theres no need to spend money on a ticket. i am not asking for myself, so pls no rude remarks LOL :)

No, they will not deport you as you are already leaving voluntarily and again they do take into consideration your extended stay, but they will not bother to question you. Infact if you leave voluntarily, this saves the tax payers money. It is better this way unless if your friend wants to spend time in one of those filthy immigration hostels before they are deported. Remember, you aren't deported on the same day hence you await your turn at the hostels. So going back voluntarily is better than awaiting deportation as you are not even allowed to carry a suitacase; all your belongings are stashed in a plastic bag, fancy that?

I seem to recall that there is no specific system to monitor who leaves the country. Certain individual passports can be tagged to raise the holder's name at emigration points, but the authorities have to know passport details first and these are logged when you enter the country, if an official actually, manually does it. Most people wander in and out at will.

If you are an EU citizen they cant see when you left and came to the country, but probably you are not, so they can see when you left and came back from the stamps you have on your passport, therefore according to UK laws and EU treatys they cant deport you unless they are chasing you for crimes. you can also advise the Imigration and nationality directorate at www.ind.homeofiice.gov.uk

Depends which country.
If you get deported you may find that the cost of your ticket goes through the roof.
The airline got nothing to lose charging you more that they would normally, and they know you HAVE to leave.

If they depart of their own accord then there will be now problems on revisiting but if deported then it permanent.
