I have had 3 pierces in my earlobes and 1 cartilage pierce. I have had the least trouble with the cartilage one. Since you've already done it, I would leave it in, but watch it closely, clean it 3 or 4 times a day with alcohol or peroxide or the soultion you get when you have them pierced at the store. If it feels sore or tender and starts looking red, you should remove the stud for a while. When I had my cartilage pierces, she told me pretty much what I have told you. Also, she said I should leave the stud in for a year to make sure the hole didn't close up.

If you kept everything clean, I think it will be OK.... I would put some alcohol on it occasionally just to keep it clean. When I had mine done it was very sensitive, much more than any other ear piercing I had. So you may not be able to go through with it any way. I even took the earring out and put some triple antibiotic ointment on my ear and the earring, then you have to put the earring back in. It took, amazingly, about 3 months before it stopped annoying me. Keep the earring in for about 3 months, unless you take it out to clean the area. Good Luck!!!!

I got my cartlidge pierced and I had to take the earings out cause they kept getting infected and bothering me. Now i have 2 bumps where the earrings once were. One is bigger then the other and they only way to get rid of them is to have them removed my a dermotologist. But even my ear lobes get infected very very easily. So if your prone to having problems with earings most likely it will get infected. If not just keep it clean and make sure the skin doesnt start to grow over the earring and if you feel any bumps take it out!
