no, it is god's will that everyone come to accurate knowledge and get saved (1 Timothy 2:3-5, 4 whose will is that all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man named Christ Jesus.)
So to pray for people to know the truth of God is in harmony with God's purpose. That is not to say that all men will respond, as it is up to each person to decide whether to seek the truth. Many will not, but there is no way in which God will force a person to gain truth if he or she has no desire to seek it themselves.
Excellent question though. I hope the scripture I shared with you is helpful.
Have a great day!

Yes you are right,it is the Holy Spirit that draws a person anyway and if there be one that is being drawn the right thing to pray is if they want to know you(God) show them the light or truth.
God wishes no one to perish but will not impose to anyone, in the end God knows he has that charge and things will all be said and done..

In general, prayer is private speech, so you are free to pray for whatever you wish. I'm an atheist, so I view prayer as your own private ramblings.
For believers, whether you should pray or not is a tough question. I don't think it depends much on what you are asking for (whether it's for someone to find your god, cure someone of cancer, whatever). It comes down to whether you should ask your god to change his plan just because you ask him to.
To me it seems pointless. Prayer is mainly for the praying person to feel better. That they are doing something useful in making this request. I suspect if a god does exist, it already already knows what you are asking about and has already made its decision. Therefore the act of prayer will change nothing.

yes because those who believe in god assume they are correct and that everyone else in the world who don't believe in god don't feel any emotions, are completely immoral and stupid, which is not the case, i made the choice to believe what i want and if i don't believe in god, leave me alone, i know you don't like it when i tell you in an absolute tone that god doesn't exist, if i'm 'lost' let me be lost, i chose to be the way i am, i don't need anyone to pray for my 'soul' just keep it to yourself, why is that so hard? why can't you actually respect what someone else believes? people claim to be tolerant all the time but i only find a select few to really be tolerant
and yes, you would be asking god to impose your will, what if god wanted me not to believe in him?
those who pray for atheists act like they are at a higher level, how dare anyone think that their beliefs put them at a higher level? my doubt of god is just as justifiable as someone else's secure feeling of god
i don't understand how the minds of religious followers works, i don't get them at all

NO, it is GOD'S WILL, that None Should PERISH!
(2Peter 3:9) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; = = but is longsuffering to us-ward, = = not willing that any should perish, = = but that all should come to repentance.
AND.....
(Acts 17:30-31) And the times of this ignorance God winked at; = = but now commandeth = = all men every where = = to repent:
(Acts 17:31) Because he hath appointed a day, = = in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man = = whom he hath ordained; = = whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, = = in that he hath raised him from the dead.
Thanks, RR

Interesting question. Is it a bad thing to want the absolute best for people you love? To this question you may also think that saying "have a nice day" is interfering with one's own free will. Prayer is the best way there is to help someone. If they're hearts are open- God will find a way in. If not, you have not wasted your time. God bless.

Read the Bible. It is God's will that we all know Him and His Son Jesus Christ. Keep praying for everybody to find God.

As long as you are not doing in front of them, last thing they want is someone hounding them and turning them off even more. Praying for someone to find him is fine though and if you can help them find the truth and save them through prayer that's great.

Yep you would
therefore instead of praying that they find God...pray for what is best for them as a person. As it is, God does know a lot better than you do.

Did you "find God" yourself? Are you a 100% shore... so yes pray for him, if not then ask God for your own guidance.
