It started when she was 16 and she blames me for her dad not giving her more money. She sent her dad a college graduation invitation leaving me out. Now her whole family rallys around her. Her brother sent his dad a christmas card and didn't even put my name on it like he normally does. This hatred (their words) has spilled over to my husbands brother and sister in law. We can't even have christmas at our house anymore because they treat me so bad. Any suggestions?

in my family, im the tough one, i give everyone crap if i dont know them..well when my mom and dad divorced and my mom got a new boyfriend, i did everything in my power to chase him away..im not his daughter, but i think like her..maybe she just cant adapt to having a new girl in the house..you should sit down w/ her and explain your side of why you do things and let her explain her side of hating you..if you talk, ask her not to interput you so u get through it faster, and when she talks, DONT interput her cuz that will get her even madder...now for they boy, i just think that since his sister is doing it, he is to. Its not so much for him, its his way of showing respect to his sister..Now if you cant have x-mas dinner n e more over that then u need to send out a letter, or call them and say "It's christmas, cant we all 'act' like we like each other? so we all can see each other?" but the best bet is to sit down w/ her and him and talk it out, maybe she and he will still hate, but not as much cuz now they can c ur point of view..and maybe things will get better, it did w/ me and my moms boyfriend...so best of luck!
