Ok the tach signal is lost while engine is running then engine would die. I could restart but it would only run for a couple minutes or so.each time it would get less and less.I checked the primary side of the coil, no power.No power to injectors either. Replaced crank position sensor.didnt help.ASD relay is getting power and energizes. Possible MAP failure. and i have had major elictrical shorts and i might be haveing one now gonna pull the harness today. Now if i disconnect and reconnect the battery i will get one injection one spark but only one.

take it to a shop and have them put it on a compuet diagnostic machine. sounds like a bad comp failure.

I had a 98 Avenger. They are basically an Eclipse. It is the crankshft possion sensor. Unless you have the tools and the patience, let a shop do it. It drove me nuts and took me over a week to do.

Sounds like a computer related problem. I'd suggest professional intervention at this point.

Quick question though: Has this car even been flooded? Sounds like classic "Katrina Kar" issues.

What about the coil? I would get rid of the car. For real

check the computer for any codes that might be in the system this may help with diagnoses
