Why do people on Yahoo Answers seem to think everyone who doesn't conform to their ideal are going to hell? Is this really a secret meeting place for the Christian supremacists? I don't push my beliefs on others, it is irritating when they try to do it to me.

First of all, I don't see what being gay or lesbian has to do with anything. I suggest that the person who said this is without thought, not the other way around. Please, if you would like to insult me, come up with something a little more insulting. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of elderberry. Something.
Second of all, I did not come here expecting everyone to agree with me. I came here asking WHY people of the Christian faith do these this. Where better to ask then the religion section? DUH.
Third, I have nothing against Christianity. A great deal of my friends, family and clients who are Christians. Anyone who automatically starts calling me names, saying rude things, or trying to call me a hypocrite, needs to stop being so defensive and re-read the question.

Good Christians are not supremacists, because good Christians don't let anyone judge but God. Just because you are a Christian doesn't make you better than everyone else. Good Christians know that.

there is a time for supremacy and a time for not supremacy, it is a matter of being appropriate and free to inhabit different ways of being and not be stuck in one way
I don't know anybody who is just one thing
if we were rigerous , we might see that, in some way, your question and comment has a tone of supremacy over the Christian Supremacists.......you are using them to tell us all how decent and fair and good you are - so now they are down and YOU are up....
just as my answer attempts to have an air of supremacy over your question
and on and on it goes....

Friend, I have been on this site for over 6 months, & I have only ask 12 questions, & none of my questions was ever pointed at someone else beliefs, I have been serving God almost 37 yrs. I would think in 37 yrs. I am not still drinking the milk of the word But some of the meat of the word, I mainly answer other peoples questions, They ask, I answer, Do you think I should answer to fit their ideals or do you think I should tell them the truth, & also I am not a Christian supremacists. I am a Christian that will only answer the ones That I can answer, Yes after 37 yrs. I am still learning, But yet I do Know alot about scriptures & how to bring them into a complete picture. After I answer someones question, it is up to them if they agree, but my answer on the same question will always be the same.

I have no problem with people agreeing and disagreeing with any number of issues in here. What I do find ironic is that you think you will come to a domain called religion and spirituality and think that you are going to encounter only those who agree with you. Disagreeing or suggesting an idea isn't pushing their beliefs on you. If it is then I suggest you are guilty of the same as you just presented your idea. What you did say is tis a secret meeting place for Christians? I don't push my beliefs on others? So what does that mean if we answer your question we are then guilty of pushing our beliefs? I don't consider myself supreme to anyone else but it is not unusual for manh faiths to believe that those who don't hold these beliefs will be punished in differeing manners. Not just a Chrisitian belief and I would suggest not all that are Chritians hold these views. This is however the view presented by Jesus in the orthodox interpretation of scripture which I adhere to. Note I don't send anybody to hell as I have no power to save or condemn or know the conditon of anyones heart. perhaps people wouldn't become defensive if you didn't use terms such as supremists. I don't dress up i white robes or hate anyone and don't like the use of a term that seems designed to insight. I would agree some Christinas are mean spirited to towards homosexuals. As much as I don't agree with the practise I feel no superiority or hate towards anyone. I think you misunderstand the use of the term judging. In that you refer to some as good Christians is a judgement, as opposed to those who aren't. There is nothing wrong with these kind of judgements. How would I know to avoid any form evil unless I allow myslef to consider whether any action is good or evil. It is trying to judge a persons moral worth which only God alone can doas only he knows the condition of their heart.

I am not your stereotypical Christian. While I take my religion seriously; I do not force my beliefs on anybody and have many satisfying interpersonal relationships with others who are of different religions as well as atheists.
We have to try and get through this thing called life together and we cannot be forcing our ways on others. If we were all alike the vast bulk of us would be unnecessary.
I appreciate the differences in people and celebrate my friendships regardless of their religions or lack thereof.

Well Batman, any religion that declares itself to be the "one and true" religion, and the only one in which the followers are rewarded by god is quite obviously a "supremacist" religion. Nothing quite like "I'm always right, and you're going to hell".

i try to differentiate between the Fundy Christian zealot and the moderate "live and let live" Christian.
the Fundy Christian zealot is quick to judge and condemn, slow to take responsibility for his own "sins" and desires not just a celestial Christian exclusivity club in the afterlife but Christian theocratic dominion of the entire world.
yeah. they're an irritating group of wingnuts and you should put them in their place at every opportunity, in the naughty spot with a dunce cap on their pointed dogma addled heads.

a real Christian won't be able to hate. era. even however we attempt to unfold the word, we would desire to consistently not persecute others because of the fact of their ideals. That stated, I do attempt to voice my argument for what i think is the certainty of my faith and convince people who carry distinctive perspectives of that certainty. I do only it in a sort and understanding way and it does complication me that our classic non secular holidays are belittled to be computer. i don't deny anybody else the marvelous to rejoice or think of that ours might desire to outshine the others, besides the shown fact that it appears like presently ours has been pushed aside to sidestep stepping on feet. I desire that everybody might desire to share the salvation of my faith, yet whilst, for regardless of reason they elect to not, i'll a minimum of enable them to share the affection and understanding.

I don't think you're going to hell. There, there, do you feel better now!
Christian "supremacists" aren't trying to send you to hell. They believe that salvation is for those who believe what they believe. So they are technically trying to help. Why does that make you so angry?
Just let it go!
