My relationship started out with lies. He would never invite me to his house although he said that he lived alone. He claimed that his home was too dirty. About a month after we started dating, I received a phone call from his live in girlfriend. I confronted him about it and he confessed to living with her but not being happy. He told me that she uses drugs and alcohol and because he is a recovering alcoholic/addict, the relationship was very unhealthy for him to be in. I had empathy for him, and allowed him to move in with me only because I had recently been in a similar situation. I too am a recovering addict and my x boyfriend was using drugs. Once he moved in, all was good for a while until one day he lost his temper when I accidently cut his fingernail too close. It scared me. Now, noticing all the little things, I notice that he is very lazy. He won't water the grass, he can't wash clothes, and he won't help out around the house. What should I do?

Long story short. Dump him.
Look if he lies to you and says that his house is dirty but he had a live in girlfriend and now he is with you and living with you.
Hmm sounds like he moves quickly if he lied to you I suspect he will lie again to move up to a better girlfriend. He used your soft spot to get sympathy and out of the doghouse for lying to you.

Run like hell! I know from PERSONAL and PRESENT experience that if a guy lies to you in the beginning there is other stuff (like violent tendencies, children, etc) that he'll lie about. If someone shows you an "ugly side" of them DON'T ignore it because soon you'll have invested too much in the relationship to easily walk away. I'm in the same predicament myself! Only instead of a girlfriend it was a wife and instead of a drug problem he has a drinking and spending problem. All I know is that you know your tolerance limit so when you've had enough just go because NO MAN is worth the trouble especially if he's giving you NO ACT RIGHT.

sometimes it takes something bad to happen to see the truth. and the truth hurts sometimes. you need to think about is it something that you would want to do for a long periods of time. another thing couldn't he cut his own fingernails? girl if i was you i would get rid of him if not you will have to spend a lot of time picking up your self as a person then picking up after him. you know what it is like to be in recovery so you know that you have to do thing to get rid of things that make you week and could make you relapse. You are no perfect and you can't be the answer to someone else when you need to care for your self. I'm sure that he could find somewhere else.
A lie is a lie no matter what is behind it, he didn't want you to know about the girl. chances is that he would do it to you the same as he did you her.
Good luck be strong and your on your way to a better life. iv been there too your never a lone

No relationship should start out with lies.
Throw him out and tell him to grow up, he needs a mother not you. And if he scares you then honey you better get rid of him fast. If you are trying to get your life straight, it will never happen as long as he is around.
GET RID OF HIM NOW....

Hey a drug addict/alcoholic etc any addict is a problem.Let them go get themselves together and you continue with your life CLEAR LESS/CLUELESS Meaning leave them alone.Anyone who doesn't admit that they have a problem just causes you more problems it ain't worth it.

dump him, value yourself much more than you do, you deserve way better than a lazy lying jerk. You don't have any kids with him, right, so move on!
