I never called my Daddy until after we got married. We have been together 30 years now and we call each other Mums and daddy. Actually there is nothing wrong with it if he doesn't mind.
Your friends don't like it then only call him that when you are alone and not with your friends.
Ask them what their pet names are for their boyfriends then laugh at them and see how they like it...

it truly is no longer that unusual, i imagine maximum adult men might want to locate this appealing. it would want to exhibit some thing about your courting dynamic although, once you're calling him daddy he's probable treating you want somewhat woman no longer a totally grown proud and self sufficient woman

Yeah, it's weird and rather indicates you aren't a very mature or independent person if your boyfriend is a 'father figure" to you...

I don't think it's popular, but it's not abnormal. It's an endearing term like "baby" (lots of people call their significant others baby, but that doesn't mean that they are a toddler!) It doesn't mean that he's literally your father.

in a sense it is i mean if you have never had a real father figure then i guess it not wrong...but it doesnt matter because its a thing between you and your boyfriend
