Its all about staying positive. I have suffered with, and successfully fought depression. Its not an easy task, but I know that if it was ever to return, I would be prepared for it and know how to control it. Like you, I tried to shut myself away from everyone and everything, my job was hanging by a thread, But shutting yourself away is the worst thing you can do. There are people who love and care about you, and if they knew that you were feeling this way, they'd probably be shocked and they would be desperate to help you. Talk to someone you can trust, please. It won't make you better overnight, but its a start.

If you go to webmd.com and do a search on depression, you can see the symptoms. But, in general, if you no longer enjoy doing things you used to, think that everything you do is useless and feel like sleeping all the time, those can be indicators of depression.

Medication ie DRUGS are not the answer. It's ATTITUDE. It is a matter of decision We all make. If I dwell on my problems I can make myself Depressed. You need to find better things to think about. Get off your duff and find something you like and do it. Fill your time with constructive thing you enjoy.

Well, it sounds like there might be some depression there. here is a link that might give a little more insight... http://psyweb.com/Testing/HME-I/JSP/HME1Setup.jsp
In the end though you should probably talk to your doctor about it, and see if you can get into some therapy or maybe some medication.

A feeling of worthlessness, lonliness, mis-understanding. Thoughts of your death; "death would be OK", "no one will miss me", etc.
Unhappiness after ingesting depressants like alcohol.
Euphoria after eating mood enhancers like jalapenio peppers.
If you think you are, then get help. The pills are cheap and they make a world of difference.
