Do things that will stimulate the mind like challenging puzzles, crosswords, sudoko or try reading. Another suggestion if you have a lot of stress or a lot going on in your life take up a new hobby... something that you enjoy doing that can help you clear your mind. Yoga is another great way to do that.

well eat right and keep hydrated... remember the mental does stem from the physical.

meditate... that relaxes you.. keeps you in perspective and increases oxygen to the brain.

tell yourself the things you do aren't abnormal and you're a human being...

when things bother you.. tell yourself this is normal and it's ok to feel the way you feel.

and keep doing things that you like and change routine at times... sure helps to break out the emotional cob webs...

vacations help also....

and exercise.

:D

those are the basics... there's many more things one can do.. key point is.. never dull yourself, always be inventive. sometimes just being by yourself is not a bad thing.

Crossword puzzles are good. Try to use the same source. Newspaper puzzles writers tend to use the same clues and forms of speech over; remembering these unique words helps long term memory.

Read. It doesn't matter what you read.

Excercise. Increasing the blood flow also keeps you stimulated mentally.

Go to museums...especially ones that are focused on things of which you know nothing; learn.

Yoga and meditation have helped me enormously. It's not expensive and very accessible. I've been practicing for about a year and it has made me calmer, more focused and mentally aware. There are many types of yoga. You may want to seek out a teacher or class that is more focused on breath, relaxation and meditation. Veel succes!

Mentally fit? Well, from what I've heard, logic puzzles and games can stimulate your brain cells into work XD. I dunno if there's actually a definite way to keep mentally fit, but I do know that there are games out there for that purpose. Or you could just keep reading.
