Hebrews Chap 6 speaks to the subject of not leaving our sins behind like know we should. If we don't then there is no forgiveness extend to us.

We "repent" or turn from our sins.
God forgives us for our sins and fill us with his love.
If we failto give up on our sins like we know we should, then how can God forgive us?

2 Peter Chap 3 needs to be read in the context of the chapter.....
v.3&4 reads...3 First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation."
Boy, don't we see alot of that going on here inside Yahoo Answers? People scoffing at the idea that jesus is real and that he will come back someday just like he said?
So v.7 is right on the money.....
Revelation Chap 19-21 spells out for us how God will cleanse the earth with fire and create a new heaven and a new earth.

So, yes...
spurning God's love and doing things your own way will lead to destruction and devastation.

But God can forgive us and he wants to, But we need to do it his way, not try to create our own way.

Hope that helps some

I'm screwed, then, aren't I?

You know what? I think that with all the pickiness about who gets to heaven, I think 99% of the world is going to be in hell. Really.
