Not from experience but from knowledge I know they give you time off for time served. So if you have a 6 month sentence and you've been in for a month, you serve 5 more. Sometimes they commute your sentence based on the final charge and sentencing.

Well, it actually depends on what the charges are. However, what I can tell you is that you normally do 1/2 of the time that you are sentenced to. For example: If you are sentenced to 6 months, you will do approximately 3 months. If you are sentenced to 1 year, you will do a total of 6 months and twenty days. You can also call the county jail where the person is being held, and if they have already been to court and been sentenced by a judge, you can ask the clerk of their release date and you will be told. I work closely with the criminal justice system and if you have any further questions on how to go about getting information you can email me and I will help you out as much as I can. Hope that this helped you a bit.

Not enough information! Was the person arrested for a felony, misdemeanor or violation? Previous offenses (yes or no). Possible probation violation? Does the current violation occur while under custody? Dang it! Give us some more info!
