the ped says he's going to be like 6'4 or something like that. Right now he's 5'7. Do you think the knee pain is growth-related or should we shcedule an appointment with the orthopedist for him?
Has any of you suffered from that?

If the pain is consistent, then he needs to be examined....if the pain is intermittent, then is it probably related to activity....running, jumping and such. Don't be concerned with the Ped's opinion...it it only that....growth slows down or speeds up by hormones...not predictions...There are many possible causes to knee pain....from torn ligaments to actual bone erosion and of course there may be marrow defects or osteoporosis of the femur or the tibia.Be astute and observe what causes pain, when the pain occurs and if it continues....give your observations to the orthopedic surgeon....In most cases, I find that a simple analgesic is enough but without seeing the patient, I can suggest no more.

I would get a 2nd opinion & schedule an apt with the orthopedist.

At 13 he should not be having pain in bones. I would see the doctor if he was my son.

Natural herbal cures will best work for him assuming he takes a full dose. He'd only need to take them based on prescriptions from his physician.
