1) Butter one side of two slices of bread. 2) Place slices of your favorite cheese between the two pieces of bread. Leave the buttered side facing outward. Shredded cheese will also work. I like pepper jack cheese the best, but use whatever you enjoy. 3) Place the buttered side on a warm grill atop the stove. Use a medium heat. 4) Flip the cheese toastie over when the grilled side is toasted brown with a spatula. 5) Toast the second buttered side. The cheese will melt in the middle while toasting. 6) Enjoy with your favorite chips and drink!

Do them under the grill They don't need to be done in a toastie maker, they were just brought out for commercial purposes and the bread almost always doesn't fit right. Use a baking sheet or grill, make the sandwich, toast on one side and then carefully turn to do the other side.

Do you have a cooker? If so, does it have a grill?. If so put your toasties under the grill - you will have to keep an eye on them and turn them over before they set fire to the kitchen.
If you don't have a cooker with a grill, try your local kebab place, ask them nicely and they might be willing to toast your toasties.

My toastie machine broke, and i was gutted :-(, but since then i have done them in the oven. I toast my bread in the toaster, put butter on both slices, then put in my cheese and onion, tomato etc. But a little tip would be to preheat the oven on high, then when you put your toastie in turn it down, so you don't dry your bread completely. Enjoy :-) xx

Do you mean a grilled cheese sandwich? Like two pieces of bread with melted cheese in the middle? Put some butter in a skillet on medium heat. Put the sandwich (with the cheese in the middle) in the skillet. Cook for a couple of minutes, or until the bottom is toasted. Turn it over, and cook until the other side is toasted. The cheese should be melted. Enjoy!
