I haven't got any cayene pepper, what can i use as a substitute?

Hot paprika powder or chili powder. Splash of Tabasco.

You should already have pepper in it. A tiny smidge of paprika should be in it as well. The classic way is just a few scant drops of Tabasco! And I mean scant. And no way should you add baking soda like another answer said.

Another way is using a bit more dry mustard. This dish is really forgiving as to what you use.

First of all why would you want to bother!!!!! but if you must then as others before have said.....cayanne pepper is good, but also mix in a little garlic salt.....
