I'm 13 and I'm 5'4. I weigh 119 pounds. I think I'm fat, but others think I'm skinny......I want to lose weight to look better. What's your opinion?

Girl, you are looking fab-U-lous! I wouldn't change a thing about you. If you want to start exercising, a little more muscle tone and endurance, there's nothing wrong with that either.

at your age, I'd say if you're hungry, EAT SOMETHING. Like many Americans, you might have a sort of guilty love-hate relationship with food. there is nothing wrong about eating. Food is delicious, it's good for you(mostly) and your body needs it! It is because we have this irrational fear of eating that Americans eat so much prepackaged, preprocessed "junk" foods, and shy away form good old fashioned "home cookin'." Try making your own meals, for me at least, it really helps me appreciate food more, and it's a lot more satisfying!

Also, Its good to know that your weight or body size has very little to do with how your friends and others look at you and treat you. Just think about it, would you stop being friends with someone just because she maybe gained 5 pounds? Would you break up with a guy just because he had a little bit of a gut? No way! If you are kind and friendly to people and treat them with respect, they will probably like you no matter what you look like!

Almost emphatically, no. According to your BMI (body mass index--a way people measure whether someone's overweight) Remember, muscle is far more dense than fat. This is very important thing to remember for a swimchamp like yourself. You may consult the following source to tell whether you are over weight. Simply imput the necessary info. Remember, the source doesn't factor in bone density nor muscle mass, so IT MAY NOT BE RELIABLE if you have larger bone structure and high muscle mass (you probably do for a girl if you are a swimmer). To check your bone density, measure the diameter of your wrist.
Don't worry about being fat at this time in your life. Of course, that's not to say that you shouldn't eat right. You are still developing.

OK,
I'm 13 and I'm 5'11. I weigh 175. I'm fat..

And if you think you are fat you are so wrong i have a girl friend and she is 90 pounds and she is 13 that is to skinny.. you are the right weight 120 is a good weight not fat in not to skinny.
I'm sure you are sexy!! This is my moms acount.. I'm a guy..

im 13 5"2 and 103 pounds I think the average 13 year old is 110 pounds. but im not sure. you are taller than most 13 year olds so im not sure. if you are unhappy with you weight , try exersicing on a tramp. or run, dieting or eating less is also good. Just some suggestions

Dont loose weight! you are perfect! 119 pounds is exactly what you are suppose to be. no less than that. for someone that is 5'6 the minimum is 120 so i guess you are around there. if you lose weight you will be considered underweight

i'm 5'3 and only 7 lbs lighter than you and i've never in my life been called fat or chubby. i've always been called skinny. so believe me you're not fat. you're a good weight. you probably won't lose weight but you could exercise at least 4 days a week and eat healthy that way you stay in your healthy weight range.

we are almost exactly the same!!!! i am 13 5'4 and weight 118 and i'm trying to lose weight too and people tell me i'm skinny, but i think you should do what you want no matter what other people think.

You are at the bottom of your weight group now. if you lose weight you will look like a skeleton with skin. Don't get crazy.

This is baby fat, at your age everyone has it, don't worry.
If it still concerns you do some jogging (not on pavement, it will do damage to your knees.. that's what happened to me and now I have to take prescription pain medication when I need it), try some basic yoga poses
