I'm living in an area where 90% of the people are Muslim and i find it really difficult as an Occultist and Pagan to live my liberal lifestyle. Everywhere i go there is people promoting Islam and i constantly have to deal with people offending my beliefs and treating me as if i'm 'evil' or a Leper or something. If you want to devote your life to something that is unproven thats cool with me but atleast respect the fact that i also devote my life to somthing that is 'un-proven'. On the end of the day all beliefs are a bit illogical and if worse comes to worse only the hardcore materialist/ atheists (not all atheists are materialist, i know) are logically correct. But it is our beliefs (yours and mine) in the supernatural that i enjoy most about life. Why are some muslim people so cold towards non-muslims?

Many of my beiefs are scientific and i have proven it to myself, but it is subjective. I am a results magician and Muslims don't like that at all. But Islam practices many of the things i call magick, they just have different names for it. I have the same problem with fundamentalist Christians.

I live in England so i don't see why they should think their religion is 'special' most of these people cannot even live in their own country of origin because of the hate Islam has breeded there. Don't spread the hate here...If you want hate; go back back to the middle east.

I have no idea...maybe its because of the way people have treated them. Especially after the 9/11 attack. If its really causing you and your family problems...then I'd suggest you move. I mean they do have the right to promote/talk about whatever they want. They shouldn't treat you as if your so bad and things but I guess its whatever they must follow or believe. To be honest I know nothing about Muslims but their are some very strict ones... the ones you may live around :)

Good Luck!

And to the people who say this is not a Muslim country need to go correct their knowledge because if i'm not mistaken...pilgrims came here so they can practice their beliefs. I don't see why anyother religion can't. So to me this is everybodys freaken country. No matter what you follow, who you are, or whateva

Muslims have problems to accept such beliefs and if you read the Quran you know why. I am an atheist and it is something very difficult to tell to a Muslim because it is something that would definitely send you straight to hell if Islam were true. It is much easier for them to respect Christians because Christianity is a monotheist religion and Christians are considered as "people of the book" who believe in many of the Islamic prophets. When you somehow practise a religion that is not "Abrahamic" many Muslims consider this as blasphemy. In the Quran it is repeated over and over how important it is to believe in "the one true God".

The image above is nuts!!

I think that Muslims need to chill a bit. Way back in history, when we were much more isolated from each other, it was ok to follow one's religious beliefs very strictly and also expect others in society to do the same. But now that societies are diverse, one has to make adjustments to accommodate others who hold different beliefs. I think Christians have made some progress in this area but Muslims have not.

Muslims are free to be srtict with their religion amonst themselves but when out the society, they need to make adjustments to fit in society. For example, some muslim cab drivers are refusing to pick up non-muslims in NY if they are carrying unopened bottles of wine or dogs (even the tiny ones). How can they expect to live in a multicultural city with such rules?

Also, Muslims like to have a call to prayer in the morning at about 5 a.m. That is fine in a community that is all Muslim, but in a religiously diverse community, a call to prayer at 5am wakes up both muslims and non-muslims. Why not just ask Muslims to set their bed-side alarms at 5am so that they don't have a loud public call that wakes everyone up - including babies, tired parents, school children, the elderly and even invalids? Such behaviour by muslims is so inconsiderate and they need to reconsider such actions in today's multicultural societies.

They need to chill because people will eventually get fed up with them and begin to hate and isolate them. They are walking down the wrong road. Just because I don't believe what you believe does not make you holier than me. In fact, the most goldly way of expressing your religion is to care for others. Non-christians may not be convinced to follow Christ through preaching -- but Christians may be able to convert many if they let their actions speak louder than their words.

...................that's all folks!!!

Ok well I don't know if you are in the U.S. or not, but if you are, this is freaking America and the first people that came here to set up land were definately not Muslim. They should just feel happy enough that we have freedom of religion here. They should shut their mouths and live their own lives instead of worrying about yours. If they start talking nasty to you, just start making fun of Alah or imitate how stupid they look praying. Dont let them mess with you, you have a right to believe whatever you want to and America is definately NOT a muslim country!

if some muslims are bad towards you or treat you with unfairness because of your beliefs then please forgive them because they are not practising their religion. islam says that non believers should be treated equally.dont judge islam by the believers because they might not be paractising it properley.
if you want to see a proper muslim's lifestyle judge it by the prophet muhammed he is the best of creation.
and that is how a real muslim shall be.

According to Islam, you are an infidel and will always be a target of subjugation.

Islam was founded by Muhammad who is an interesting character. He started his career by robbing caravans. He was a thief turned prophet. He was a charismatic leader who was able to unite the religions in the area into one religion through his creation of the Quaran that borrowed bits and pieces from other scriptures such as the Bible's old and new testaments. For example, Jesus is cited in the Quaran as just a prophet as well as the Apostles being referenced. Muhammad gained power by conquering his neighbors and subjugating them to Islam. His teachings are to subjugate those of non-Islamic faith "Infidels" by converting them to Islam or pay a retribution and be under the rule of Islam if not converted. These Islam rules apply to Muslims today and there is a sizable minority of several million who subscribe to the bloody, aggressive religious theology of subjugation. All of the major wars today are with Islamic groups. Islam is the largest enemy that the west faces today and you can be assured that more battles will be fought by the US and west against radical Islam.
