I have 2 girls, and I always said I wanted 4 kids as well. Before I had children people told me the same thing, " you will change your mind after 1", but I didn't. My husband was very stern about not wanting more than two, but now that they are 6 and 2 and he has had to become a stay at home dad, he realizes how fun they are and how much he missed out. I think he has a soft spot in his heart for more now. I say if you both agree go for it, but only time will tell.

It is not too much to raise. I know people with more and the kids are fine. After 3 kids each new child is not a heck of a lot more work. However, It sounds like it is too much for your husband. He may want to stop for many reasons. Having children is a huge decision. Much bigger than should be decided by a post in yahoo answers. Both people should want the child with all their heart. If you harass him for a child and he gives in, he will resent you for it for the rest of his life. On the other hand, if he doesn't bend to your wish you may be resentful. Perhaps you should look more closely into the reasons he doesn't want children. This issue has the potential to be a huge riff in your marriage. Perhaps you should seek professional guidance in this matter.

Children are so wonderful, I understand wanting more than two. If money is an issue, you will have to consider to lower your level of expenses, like no restaurants, using hand me down clothes, etc.... I agree thought that it is an important question that can't be answered with Yahoo answers. What works for one person might be a nightmare for another.

You can have as many children as you want providing:
- you can financially support them and care for them
- you can emotionally handle that many (and depending on when you have them...considering the age differences)
Your husband not wanting that many is kind of a deal breaker. Also, you might want to have 1-2-3 before deciding upfront you want to have a 4th.

Not if you can afford it and its what you want. You didn't say why your hubby didn't want 4 kids. I have four. The reason I have four is because I grew up one of three and someone was always left out. I wanted a even number in my family so that is why I have 4 kids.

If you can afford to support them then it's not too many, but only if you both agree. If you go ahead and get pregnant without his support, the fourth child may cause a rift between his/her parents and that would be the proof that it is too many, by which time, it's too late - you can't send him/her back!

Consider the consequences very carefully - you have to agree

IT is now days..for the cost of Children and College. You have to think about school and cost of living and the fact that every year prices go up! You don't want to take away from the three children you have now...Unless your lodaded then go for it! ;) but if your like the majority of us then stop...and take your family to Disney World instead! ;)

Multiply college tuition by 4, multiply expenses for clothes by 4, multiply expenses for their first car by 4... You get the point. 4 is way too much.
