If so what is the time frame that you need to file the claim? Like how long could you wait to file it?

(1) Document all of your transactions done
(2) WRITE to the offending company and send the letter registered mail with a return receipt requested - make sure you keep a copy of all of your transactions
(3) Contact VISA right away and inform them that you suspect some type of fraud - call them first, give them the information verbally, and then ask them what they want you to do next - tell them what you have done so far, what you are waiting for, etc. They will at least open a file for you and wait for some more responses, or contact the company directly on your behalf and ask them what is going on.

The magic time frame is to contact them within 30 days of SUSPECTING the fraud. If a company asked for your credit card to hold an amount for something to be shipped at a future time, then they have certain guidelines and rules and regulations that they need to follow, and if they violate them then they are in trouble both with VISA and legally as well.
