my best friend and i are almost 16 years old. lately, i don't know what's been happening to her. it's like she's changed all her values all of a sudden. the only thing that she talks about now is getting a boyfriend, "hot guys", and making out. her grades are slipping... and she's becoming a completely different person. i don't know what to do with her!! is it weird that i'm not obsessed with looking for a boyfriend and that she on the other hand is?

It's good that you're not. Your grades aren't suffering and you're not distracted by guys. At 16, there's no way that a guy is able to have a mature relationship, so your friend is wasting her time. She's putting all of her energy into landing a boyfriend who probably won't be around in a couple of months anyway. Guys tend to be commit-phobes for awhile, but at 16, they're expected to be. If your friend just wants to make out with them and doesn't want a relationship, that's her perogative, but she should put her grades first. Getting into college is more important than seeing how many guys she can get her hands on.

You should talk to her. If she is changing in such drastic was that trouble you you should express your feelings and talk to her.
And Its not weird that your Not obsessed with looking for a boyfriend!
There is plenty of time for that later on

It's probably just a phase she's going through, but sometimes people stay in these phases. By any chance did she just lose her virginity?
