i have a 4 yr old pom that has mites about everytime this yr but i can cure that but my question is he has lost his fur on his ears from scratching so much from the mites what can be done for it if anything any home remdyies i could try before going to the vet

You need to keep the ears clean and dry. The mites can sometimes cause bald spots that sometimes grow back but not always.
You should spray your yard for the mites and the dogs bedding area needs to be sprayed. You have to stay on top of this.

Bath the dog in a dog shampoo that contains oats. This will sooth the skin..also get a topical medication such as neosporn or gold bond and apply to the infected areas for relief and prevent infections
