You should examine your reasons for not wanting to be around this girl. Would you be her friend and go hang out with her just as friends?
A lot of guys are all about looking good to other GUYS. "Look what I got!" kind of mentality. It's all about showing off what you've got that others may want and if the girl is not the envy of other guys then they don't bother. If other guys would think she's ugly then you won't even be seen with her.
Shallow.

Hey I have turned down guys in the past when they asked me out because they weren't aesthetically pleasing... so I dont see why a guy can't turn down a girl. Seems equal to me!! -- let her be mad she'll get over herself.

well, while what is on the inside is what counts, you should also have a physical attraction towards the one you love, it is natural and no matter what people say, falling in love with someone does sometimes have to do with what they look like. dont be mean to her, but just maybe see her as a FRIEND and make that clear so you dont break her heart.

A girl here called you jerk, because you acted as one. What's wrong with fat girls? NOTHING. They are human beings and deserve love and respect as everyone else.
You lost the opportunity to have an additional best friend.

It's perfectly fine not to lead on someone to whom you're not attracted, but you will never know if that person is right for you if you judge her on one aspect of her appearance. There can be a really beautiful person underneath who you will never know about if you don't take a chance. But if you really feel like it isn't there, it's best not to lead her on.

yeah it's okay, just dont let her know. if she doesnt "float your boat" - - so to speak,, then just tell her that she isnt your type, or you could flat out say, sorry but.. and thhen tell her how you feel. But if i were in your shoes, i wouldn't tell her she isn't aestheticallty pleasing, because 1) thats really harsh, and 2)that comment will scar her for life.

Haven't you tried to say that boring 'u r not my type'?:)
it's not pleasant, but it's truth anyway, so I think there is nothing wrong to say it!
I've done it myself and also have heard it myself. It's not the end of the world :))

If you're not attracted to her, it's OK to reject her. Otherwise you'd just be leading her on. Don't worry about it.

Well its better to be upfront now than getting her hopes up and smashing them when you don't accept her for ALL the she is. (Fat and all.)

If there's no attraction, you should not go out with her. You would only by lying to her.
