Do you have a nesting box in or attached to the cage? Without one, the birds will ignore the eggs. I used to raise keets. Sometimes now, the birds won't start to sit on the eggs until maybe up to a week with a box. If the birds don't sit on the eggs within about 5 days to a week, candle the eggs to see if anything is growing in there. If it's dark, keep it. If it's not, get rid of it, there's nothing in it. The dark is a baby bird growing.

Verify if it is fertile. Shine a bright light through it. You will see clear nothing or a reddish strip indicating fertilization has been accomplished. An incubator is needed if it is fertile and it will hatch in 21-26 days in which the parents are the best to raise it. Did you witness copulation? I doubt it is fertile. If not, chuck it. Throw it out. Good luck.

If you don't have a nest box in the cage, you need to put one in there if you want babies. If you do have a nest box, put the egg back in the nest box. If you don't have a nest box you should just toss the egg. Unless you have an expensive incubator and a lot of experience with them you will never be able to hatch it.

Put in a nest box and let them try and start a family. Birds don't sit on the eggs right away, they wait until they have a few eggs first, that way they will all hatch together.

leave it alone for now, if its the first egg they sometimes wait untill all eggs are laid then they start sitting give it a few days after all the eggs are laid to check if its fertile.

If its a new air they might not sit the first time.

Hi

They wait untill they have layed there second, sometimes third egg! that is why they are not sitting on it because the female has only layed one she is waiting to lay more so then she can start incubating it!
