Religion is important to me because I believe God created humans. When He was creating us, angels said "why do you create that which will cause much bloodshed?"

God acknowledged that there will be bloodshed, but if humanity follows His message and stays away from temptation, the bloodshed will be limited.

So, God gave us a set of instructions in each era to ensure that we can live in His grace. This set of instructions was known as Torah at one time, Gospel at another, and Quran now. As a Muslim, I believe that if humanity followed God's Word (out of freewill, because there is no compulsion in religion) we will see peace, justice, equality all over the world.

How could it be that God created humanity and left it to wander on its own?

What makes Muslims' practice so prominent is that Islam teaches us to obey God in public and in private. Many religions teach that we obey God in private, at an individual level. But when these individuals gather and become a community, they don't have to obey God. Islam disagrees. Islam provides a system of life that is comprehensive enough to provide guidance on every matter in ones' life in God's obedience.

==============================================

But one may ask, is there a God? Islam encourages finding God through rational analysis. God has given us many signs by which to find Him. "Verily, in the alteration of the day and night are signs for those who comprehend."

God bless and feel free to message me if you have follow up questions.

I agree, there are so many things the Muslims are doing today that should not be done, and things that we aren't doing that should be done. For some, the religion has become a tradition rather than a belief, and I think that's why so many have gone astray. Why is religion important to me? Well, it offers so much in the way of life that I could never give it enough credit. It's a guiding light when no other lights are around, it aids in shaping a beautiful personality of the one who grasps it the most, it teaches love, respect, dignity and justice in *so* many aspects. This is why it's quoted as being a complete way of life rather than just a religion.

Dont think its that simple. I'm not saying Islam is not a positive religion that mostly promotes good citizenship but it is not quite how you describe it.

Islam, unlike christianity, does have a governmen and a military aspect. It is not all love one another although mostly the military aspect is defending muslims and islam from oppression by ppl.

Also UNLIKE christians Islam recognizes ppl of some other faiths can be saved; i.e., they believe christians, jews and zorosastians should be o.k if they are faithful.

just read about Islam’s teachings, and you’ll know better....

Religion is important to us because we believe in two lives: this finite one, and the second infinite one. So we try as many good things as possible in the finite lifetime in order to be granted heaven in the infinite lifetime. I know many Muslims have done wrong things, but you can't single Muslims out.

I'm not a muslim but understand being muslim is about religion and culture which go hand in hand and muslims are born into the faith and culture making it very important to them, and very difficult to stand back and look objectively at what they believe and what others believe.

all mankind from the beggining of history want to achieve one goal, which is HAPPINESS, is one simple word, but seemingly hard to achieve, islam as a relegion, and a way of life provided people with the solution that can achieve happiness... and relief anxiety which is guaranteed lifelong as long as u are following god's orders, in all of ur life's details.
so the one wh created people knows whats best for them,
and make them happy.
and the other thing that islam guide us through the way to heaven and win the pleasence of ALLAH
so islam handled every mattter in our lifes so we can shape it to get the best outcome... and answered the question of existence, is to worship allah is his way for us,
