Mead is Russian word for honey........In early culture here in Russia people used to put honey with water and some herbs for couple days in dark and cold place. Then some alcohol appear inside...........You can read about it almost all Russian fairy tales, especially ones ended with marriage. ))

Just plain old nasty

I like most anything but Mead really bites the big one.

Its an ancient beverage made from fermented honey (honey, water, yeast) plus spices or fruits used as flavorings.

It's too sweet and yeasty to be a like wine. It's too flowery and watery to be a like a beer. Maybe I just picked one I didn't like. I suppose it is just an acquired taste.

I still have half a bottle ... you want it ... lol

It is a fermented beverage known as 'honey wine', and is made with honey water and yeast. A mead that contains spices such as cloves cinnamon or nutmeg or even herb like oregano, lavender or chamomile is called metheglin.
