What makes you think he stopped sending prophets? A prophet is not recognized in his own land. Meaning...many come, few are listened to for their message of peace.

There is no "Last Prophet".
God will always have need for someone to prophesy for Him, and thereby there will be Prophet after Prophet, until He returns!
Please, seek Him while He can be found!
Really, it's only your ETERNAL SALVATION at stake here.
Make the right choice, and make the right stand for your choice.
I Corinthians 14 verse 37:
"If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord".
BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS!
Mark 13 verses 5-6:
" And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any MAN deceive you;
For many will come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many".

Gordon B. Hincley. is the current Prophet on this Earth.
Numbers 12:6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
Rejection of Prophets.
2 Chronicles 36:16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.
Jeremiah 1:19 And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.
Isaiah 30:10 Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:

The prophets are coming back in full force for the last days.
Ephesians 4:11, 1 Corinthians 12:28, just to name a few.

Muhammad (peace be upon him)
033.040: Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Messenger of Allah, and the Seal of the Prophets: and Allah has full knowledge of all things.

I'm not sure Christ can be classified as a prophet....Definitely a teacher and messenger.
Everyone seems to have forgotten
Isaiah, the great prophet.

Jesus Christ. Our Lord's favorite name for himself was the Son of man. Son of man is another designation for prophet. In the book of Ezekiel, God refers to Ezekiel on a number of occasions as son of man. Ezekiel was a major prophet. The capitalization of Son in the Son of man in the New Testament means that Jesus is THE prophet of God and the last prophet of God. All prophets since the close of the Bible in Revelations are false prophets. All prophesy is completed in Christ. John set forth the prophesy in Revelation, but this prophesy is from Jesus Christ, not John. John the Baptist was born six months before Jesus, and Jesus considered John a great prophet, but Christ began his ministry before the foundation of the world and his ministry continues to this day.

No one has the absolute truth so how can their be a last prophet? Any one who says that is likely a dictator trying to get the whole world to live the way he wants them to!

The beloved John, see Revelation.
Also soon there will be Two Witnesses.
Rev 11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
Rev 11:4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
TWO CANDLESTICKS
Rev 1:20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.
