We have a cocker spaniel and my girlfriend can groom him ( haircut and bath ) herself which she used to do. However now she is tired of doing it, I would do it but she says I would not be good at it which is most likely correct. So she brings our dog now to Pet Co where they charge $45 dollars to groom him. Keep in mind he goes about every month. I think that is kind of exspensive for something that she could do for free, but anyway after she pays the $45 she leaves a $10 dollar tip! I think that is way too much, I actually dont think she should leave a tip at all considering they are not friendly when she drops him off or picks him up. Should she leave a tip? If so how much? How do you feel about the situation?

first of all, its tipping. second, i think she should leave a tip if she wants to, and ten dollars is not a bad estimate. usually good tips are between 15 and 20 %, and 9 dollars would be 20%. it's up to her how much she wants to leave, but 10 dollars seems about right

Hiya, I did a bit of research on the internet for you...altho I don't take my dog to a dog groomer, not because I'm cheap, because our westie would be too stressed from having someone else clip her I have found out that 15 to 20 % is not out of order for what a dog groomer does.I do think that $10.00 is a really good tip tho I would tip more like $5.00. I don't know that your dog would have to be groomed every month? I would have thought once every 2 to 3 months should be enough with combings in between. If you and your girlfriend are happy with the service that you receive from your groomer why shouldn't she leave a $10.00 tip? Perhaps there is more done than what you know about?...little extras the groomer does that he/she doesn't charge for? or perhaps your pet likes this groomer? A pet is for life and is your best friend...they don't ask for much in life, just a bit of lovin from you...so why not splurge on them
want more info?...type in tipping a dog groomer in your search engine, you'll find all sorts

I also take my dog to Petco to be groomed. He is a small dog and it cost $15-30 depending on what I have done. My haircuts are cheaper! I usually tip $3-5 depending on the service. I did see them clip his nails and he can be a pain, I know, but they seemed to be sort of rough with him so I didn't give a tip that time. If they are really rude I would stop the tipping until they realize why you are no longer tipping.

Yes leave a tip, five dollars should be enough. I'd offer to pay your friend to groom your dog. Ig you offer to pay her $30 she can pocket the money rather then giving it to a lage corporation and you save mony, not to mention a drive.

Nope she should stop the tipping. That is their job, and you can be sure that these workers are being paid well.
