I have grown attached to the child but at the same time i have been told to find another job from friends and fam casue its not only that they arent paying me well but they get mad at me for stupid things and intimidate me or they become passive agressive over things like being sick or what not.

They're really not paying you enough! You need to set the price before you take a job, don't let your clients set what they will pay you or you'll be taken advantage of. I used to charge $5 an hour for less than 8 hours, $50 for overnight plus cab fare. That was 15 years ago!

That is insanely low. Over ten years ago I was paid $4 an hour (for three kids).

I think teenager babysitters should get at least $5 an hour for one child. For full-time home daycare I would say $30 a day.

I live in out West in Canada, and I pay my babysitter $10 and hour from the time we pick her up until we take her back home. Mind you we don't go out that often, but if we had to have a babysitter a lot, at least minimum wage would be fair. Its a job too, just like any other!

I think that you are short changeing yourself. Sometimes its easy to get confused that your doing a service for them. And it makes it hard after you have babysit the child and gotten attached to the child. The parents might start to treat you as a friend so therefore you dont want to ask. I believe you are doing a hard job, I know because i babysat in my home and parents will just take advantage of you. I believe you should at least get what minuim wage is. There are polite ways of requesting more pay.
And if they cannot do that they need to find someone else. You sound like a very caring person but just rember you do a service for them and they need to respect that you need your money just as well as anyone else. If it is hard for you to come out and ask for more money leave a note for them. Good luck

I think you should be getting at least $3 an hour and I would charge $50 to babysit overnight. Next time they phone you to babysit just say to them I am going to need paid more the wage you are giving me is just too low.

I also live in ON. You are absolutely being underpaid! You have probably established yourself with this family but... you need to have that salary increased. Either give them a set price for the weekends. Or set your own hourly rate! $3-5 per hour for sure. If they cherish how you handle and interact with their child, then they SHOULD pay you for your service!

Whatever you choose it does not matter what people say cause some may say 5-7 an hour and you may want to pay less so you know how much work it takes to watch your kids so be honest to the worker okay!!!!!!!! put yourself in their shoes.

I'd say anywhere fom $3 to $5 is the norm. $1.04 is a little cheap I'd say.

noooo that is way to cheap . You should be getting $2.00 an hour per kid per hour . So if your watching one I would be asking for $2.00 .
