They are dog treats, as the previous answerer confirmed; definitely for breath/tartar control.

HOWEVER, as a fanatical dog owner, I do not give my dogs greenies because they are not 100% food based...my preferred alternative to greenies are supplied by a company called "Zukes", and they have an all natural bone shaped breath freshener called the "Z Ridge". Not only does Zukes have that, but they also have many other outstanding treats from a nutritional standpoint, especially for dogs with joint difficulties.

I'm with smokin...I have heard some very bad things about Greenies for dogs. If not chewed properly and thoroughly, they can lodge in the dogs stomach and intestines, cause a blockage and in some cases have actually cause death. The company that makes them will absolutely deny it, and blame something else..so use your own discretion. I had some for my dogs and gave them away to someone who has not had problems with them. Zukes are great. Potato and/or Yam skins are good too.

Greenies are the name of the dog treats. They come in shapes like a tooth brush and are at pet stores. I have not found them yet in the supermarket. But if you go to thier website, they will send you a free sample. They are to make their breath better I think. Our dogs liked them, so I guess they are good.
