I am a girl with long hair. My hair color is black, and my hair comes up to my whole back. It's trimmed and everyting but the girls in my school are ALWAYS talking about how long it is, and how I always show off with my hiar (when I NEVER do), and how I'd look much prettier if I cut it. They're always saying how I should get layers and all that, and no matter how much I try and tell them I like my hair like this, they'll still keep talking about it! And, I'm new to this school by the way .... and they're already talking about me

Is long hair really that nasty?
Why are they saying this about me?
What should I do?

Long hair is not nasty. But if you do want to change your hair you could donate to Locks of Love. If you are tired of "showing off" your hair then just put it back in something like a ponytail. The only nasty thing about long hair is the tangles

The same thing happens to me everyday!! I have long hair three quarters of the way down my back. I love my hair and people always compliment me on it. Well, MOST people. My friends are convinced that I should cut my hair. I talked this over with my mom and the truth is sometimes girls want you to look like them so they never feel worse or different from you. Don't cut your hair! I'm sure it looks soo pretty long, don't listen to everything your friends want you to do. I know you've probably heard this before (I know I have!!) but if your friends told you to jump off a bridge because there's a chance it might make you prettier, would you? NOO! Your friends just want you to be like them so they feel better about themselves. I'm not saying they aren't great people and awesome friends, I'm saying only you can know what's best for you.

Long hair and nasty ?

How can long hair be nasty ? A woman's long hair is universally beautiful. And by the way, how many women on earth are blessed with long hair ?

Since you own it, you better be proud, and don't care what others say. Coming to showing it off, though you say you haven't done it, I strongly suggest you start doing it. And secretly enjoy when people make envious faces !

I would love to meet a woman with long and straight hair that falls down upto her hips..

Long hair is gorgeous.

Cut if YOU want to, not if someone else tells you.

Most times when a girl cuts her hair short, other GIRLS tell her she looks cute. Of course, because she looks boyish, and to a girl, that's cute. Most guys wonder what the hell she was thinking, even though they don't say this (to the girl) because they don't want to be impolite.

Keep your long hair as long as you want.

All that you need for good hygiene is to trim the ends regularly and wash it thoroughly; but you already knew that.

I've always had long hair...at one point it was to the back of my knees.

Everyone, including myself, has always considered it to be my most beautiful feature.

Don't cut it. Long hair is always in style and has a clasical beauty that lots of folks only wish they had.

You wear your hair the way you want it and if someone says something, just tell them they would look better with a facial piercing...or more acceptance and tact with their peers.

Another thing that might shut them up is if you tell them you're growing and grooming it to donate to Locks of Love....and you can't cut it for at least three more years. By that time, they will have grown up a little (hopefully) and forgotten it.

I think long straight hair is pretty. Honestly I'm trying to grow my hair longer now. Just ignore what people say and make sure you dont have split ends and keep your long hair healthy. If it looks good, theres no problem with it.
btw the other girls are probably just jealous!!

Long hair is not nasty if it is well taken care of and looks healthy. If it looks ratty then you should cut it, but if it looks healthy and moisterized, then leave it. Who cares what other people think about your hair? They could just be jealous because they don't have long hair. And don't feel the need to conform to society, it's good to stand out!

Long hair is so pretty! If you love it, then don't even think about cutting it! They are just jealous of you! Don't listen to them at all!! Just be you, and don't care what other people are saying about you, and you will make tons of friends(who like your gorgeous long black hair too!!!) Good luck!!

If you like your hair the way it is, keep it that way. They're probably jealous of your long locks and wish they hadn't chopped theirs off. If you're thinking about changing your style a bit but keeping your length, try getting long layers. I think long hair is beautiful (especially black) :)

why care what they say? you said it yourself, you love your hair the way it is. my hair is long black and straight also, but you don't see me cutting just to satisfy others needs. it's YOUR hair! they're probably just jealous of it `=)

but if it bothers you that much you can v-shape the ends of your hair, that's what i did, just to give it some look. BUT it's still long! hehee i also suggest you go to an asian hair stylist cause when i first got mine v-shaped, i got it done at the mall and this caucasian women messed it all up and made it a U-shape.
hope that helps!
