DOBERMANS!!!!! Contrary to popular belief, if well socialized, Dobermans are WONDERFUL!! They are good with kids, and fine with strangers if shown they are okay. However, if needed, will protect your family with their life. However, they do need to know that YOU are in charge. Once you have that covered, they are extremely affectionate, loyal, and obedient. They are also not overly active like a lab, although they are up for a good exercise session at any time. They can be trained to do just about anything, from pulling a cart, hearding, to hunting. Because they are so smart, they need to have their brains stimulated, or they may become destructive or aggressive. If you live in a cold climate, they may not be the best because they have such short fur. They are also not suited to live only outside. They are VERY social and NEED to be inside with the family
I Personally SEVERLY DISLIKE labs. They are overbred and bred by too many people who have NO idea what they are doing. Therefore you end up with dogs that are, no offense, but very dumb. They have little, if any, self control because they are way to excitable. They just won't calm down. WAY TOO INTENSE! Everyone says they are just soooooo loyal, but I find the opposite true. Any stranger can just pet them or give them food and they will go with them and never look back. Also, I don't think they are a good dog for young children because, although unintentional, they get excited and knock them over, then they see they are scared so they start to lick them, which scares them even more. Also, not a good dog for the novice dog owner. They are VERY hard headed. They need an owner who can lay down the law. They also require massive amounts of exercise. One more thing, I have worked at two Boarding kennels, and out of the 9 bites I've received 5 have been from labs

There are so many great ones and i love all of them, but i love Alaskan Malamutes, Golden Retrievers and German Shepherds the most=) They are all so different but all so perfect!
Alaskan Malamute
The Alaskan malamute is powerful, independent, strong-willed and fun-loving. Its idea of great fun is to pull a sled or cart, but it also loves to run and roam. It is family-oriented, and as long as it is given daily exercise, it is well-mannered in the home. Without proper exercise, it can become frustrated and destructive. It is friendly and sociable toward people, but it may be aggressive toward strange dogs, pets or livestock. Some can be domineering. It tends to dig and howl
Golden Retriever
Everybody's friend, the golden retriever is known for its devoted and obedient nature as a family companion. It is an apt sporting retriever as well and yearns for a day in the field. Ignoring its active nature and powerful physique can lead to behavior problems, and it needs daily physical and mental exercise. It tends to be overly exuberant and boisterous, and its enthusiasm for everything often distracts it during training; however, it is eager to please and enjoys learning. The golden's achievements in competitive obedience are remarkable. It especially enjoys games that involve retrieving and loves to carry items in its mouth.
German Shepherd Dog
Among the most intelligent of breeds, the German shepherd dog is so intent on its mission — whatever that may be — that it is virtually unsurpassed in working versatility. It is utterly devoted and faithful. Aloof and suspicious toward strangers, it is protective of its home and family. It can be domineering. It can be aggressive toward other dogs, but it is usually good with other pets

A mut. Too many of them are dying at the animals shelters. We should take care of the muts before breeding any other dogs.

I have owned many breeds but only fell totally in love with the Labrador Retriever because of their total loving devotion, high intelligence and versatility, their great sense of affection, and their friendly out going personalities, and dedication they give to you.

Just about any kind of mutt. Mutts always make the best dogs because they have none of the inbreeding issues purebreeds do. It bums me out that millions of perfectly decent dogs are put down while people pay 500 bucks for a purebreed.
