Evangelical Christians support Israel because they believe that the words of Moses and the ancient prophets of Israel were inspired by God. They believe that the emergence of a Jewish state in the land promised by God to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob was ordained by God.
They believe that God has a plan for this nation which He intends to be a blessing to all the nations of the earth.
Of course, like all right-thinking people, they support Israel because Israel is an island of democracy, an island of individual freedom, an island of the rule of law, and an island of modernity in the midst of a sea of dictatorial regimes, the suppression of individual liberty, and a fanatical religion intent on returning to the feudalism of 8th-century Arabia.
I think that answers your question. And it ignores the nasty characterization that the asker used.

Well this "hick" supports Israel because it is what pleases GOD. GOD said HE for those of the Christian faith to take the gospel back to the Jewish ppl because we were given the Gospel because the Jews rejected it at the time it was first brought to them. Now it is our privilege to take it back to them.
God said that HE would bless those who bless Israel and CURSE those who Curse her.
You don't even know me how could you assume that I am a hick or unintelligent in any way? Do you know what happens when ppl ASSUME?

Israel is the Land of My Fathers and the home of God's chosen people.

Israel is the timepiece of the world. What happens there, happens everywhere. In the end, all eyes will be on Israel; including G-d's.
Why do you think the Muslims want it? Even they know it's importance, as did the Magi back in the day...
