I'm with blondie, you're a bit vague. Vicars can be short, tall, thin, fat, thick, intelligent, spiritual, unspiritual, caring, uncaring, great preachers, poor preachers, some can be a real let down to the faith, take for example David Jenkins, former Bishop of Durham who threw the baby of Christianity out with the bath water of liberalism.

If this is a serious question then only the Church of England has vicars, and the word defines the role as in job or place in the hierarchy of a parish as well as having priestly meaning. Other denominations do not have vicars but use other titles for their leaders, titles which convey meanings from their particular theological view point, e.g. Shepherd or Pastor for the leader of the flock, or sheep.

Do you mean the different names for a vicar, such as pastor, priest, or how many different types of churches are there that have vicars? Make your question more meaningful.

We can come directly to the throne of God. Why need we a vicar?

it depends upon the denomination to what they are named.

but as denomination isn't what God created, and when we become born again in the spirit, we are the priests of God
