The citroen C5 HDI estate is the largest on the market and are brilliant ( i`ve had one for 2 year`s ) and it`s been faultless !
For that kind of money you would get a 53 - 54 plate with about 40,000 mile`s on the clock !

I'd say a pug 406 estate diesel is one of the best. Other good choice is octavia diesel, great value second hand.

Volvo, VW, Audi... Merc if your lucky you can get one thats 4 or 5 yrs for under 5k..
all realy reliable cars, and bombproof..
You want to look into EX police cars.. very well maintained cars!!!! pick em up for nowt!

Volvo T5 ex -police .practicality and blistering performance for an estate.You can't go wrong.And a fair bit cheaper than a private sale.
