I do all the cooking and cleaning and don't forget the laundry. I'm also a divorced father with full custody. Hows that for breaking old time barriers?

I think it's up to the couple. Personally, in my relationship with my fiance...we both work full time, so it's half and half. What half we agreed on is because of our personalities...I'm better at cooking and I HATE washing dishes...so I usually cook and he does the dishes. We have 2 ferrets and a cat...I'm generally responsible for the cat and he's generally responsible for the ferrets. If later on I stay home with children, then we feel it's my responsibilty to cook and keep up the house. While he's out working full time...my "job" would be the house and children. Even then though, he'd still pitch in because that's just the kind of man he is and we stand together in our relationship, side by side.

A man CAN do it. It's not always a woman's job, but some people prefer it that way. My husband cooks and cleans all the time. That decision should be made between you and your spouse, and leave everyone else's judgements out of it.

i think in the olden days when only men may have had a job, it was more Of a woman's responsibility to cook and clean, but in 2007 with both people working, then both people should be responsible for helping to keep the home clean and looking nice. if one person likes to cook more then clean or vice verse then work it out but in this day and age i think it is archaic and unreasonable to put all of the responsibility of cooking and cleaning on one person.

Cooking and cleaning is not necessarily a womans job. But a woman should take care of a man and a man should take care of a woman. What's so wrong with loving somebody????

It all depends. If a woman is a house wife, then yes you expect her to cook for you or clean the house. On the weekends both of them can share the chores. However if both of them are working, then things have to be worked out , so that both are responsible equally for cooking and cleaning.

They CAN do it some just CHOOSE not to. We don't live in that kind of a world anymore. Women work & when they do, the cooking & cleaning should be shared between the 2 people.

Some men do take care of the household things but for the most part I think its because generally women are better at it. Guys tend to take the easy rout, where women will plan things out and easily take control of the situation. Guys get lazy and become oblivious to their surroundings. Women get fed up with the whole mess and spring into action, crack the whip and make the big dumb lazy man tow the line. so please don’t think that its demeaning for things to be this way because if you take the time to look a little closer you will see that women really rule the world.

I am a man and I always do most of the cleaning. I have always thought it was unfair that I did most of the work, since I put in most of the hours at work. Personaly I think it should be the resposibility of the person who spend less time in the office. But if I did that in this house, it would be a bigger pig stie then it is now

Who says it's just a womans job. When my wife is at work I clean and do dishes. She does her share during the day, I do the rest at night. If the guys to lazy to help, let hin live in a dump.
