You won't be able to fly into Salem but Portland International is about an hour from Salem. It's all freeway and during the middle of the day the drive goes pretty quick. With the rain we've been getting these days, you could always just take a boat! :)

Currently there are no commercial airlines flying into Salem. Salem is only about an hour from Portland International though.

Salem DOES currently have an airport, but it is mainly used for charter flight, personal use, some cargo & mail, and jointly used by the Oregon National Guard.

There are talks of having one daily, nonstop flight from Salem to Las Vegas, but it seems unlikely right now, since they were going around, trying to get donations from local businesses who could benefit from the flight.

Currently, the airport (Airport code: SLE) would only be equip to handle small passenger planes, like a 737, so it would never become a hub.

There is no need to fly into Salem. PDX, Portland International Airport, is within easy driving distance to Salem. Most major US airlines fly to it, along with some regional ones as well.

There is no flight that flies into Salem, because Salem doesn't currently have an airport. You can fly into the Portland Airport and it only takes about an hour of driving to get into Portland, so it shouldn’t be that bad. I hope I helped.
