It just depends. Deli's buy thier meat from a grocery distributor. Most turkeys come in frozen in cases of 4, and the propritor keeps around three in the deli case and as he uses one he takes another from the freezer. There's not much difference which day you buy especially if the deli is a busy one. If it does not have a lot of traffic, then, the day to buy would be the day after the busiest day.

i used to work in a deli and we got are orders on Tuesdays and depending on when the turkey was killed and how long the turkey stayed in the warehouse until it got to the deli every day is a go day to buy turkey in a deli. ExCEPT if it is a fresh turkey then ask the owner if he would let you know when he was going to kill and cook and slice the turkey so you can be there for your fresh turkey

It would depend on how much product the deli sells. All items are dated for freshness and go out of code at different times, so there is no best day to buy.

if you want to be sure about the deli meat ask them to open a new turkey to slice, ask what the date is on the package. Ask the deli manager what days they get their orders in.

I'd say on a monday or tuesday. when i worked in the deli whenever they got new shipments it was on the weekend. but then again deli's usually have extra supplies of turkey if you see through the glass you will see unopened packs of turkey. they are fresh though. (if its boar's head that is. that's the best you can get)

In all honesty, you're going to have to ask someone there when their truck comes in. At my old place, the answer would have been Thursday. Because that's what route I was on for deliveries. A good place won't mind telling you what day their orders come in.

it varies from one to the other, accordding to their delivery and prep times.
