The majority of cars that are for sale at dealerships end in 995, for example £4,995 and £9,995 WHY? why cant they round it up? ive never seen a vehicle that is a perfect round number.

It is sales psychology. The mind sees the 11995 and sees the 11 grand price tag rather than a fiver of 12 grand. It also allows the adverts to say Buy the new feista for under 12 grand.

If something was for sale for £10.995 it looks like it's less than £11.000, and people think that's better. The reason it's 995 and not 999 is because there will only be a limited amount of number 9's for the price boards the garage will have.

EASY. dealers use numbers on their price boards. If everything was "000" at the end, they would run out of "0"'s. This way, they can use 9's and 5's as well.

Not actually the reason, but could be!!!!

everyones right about it, it's a retail trick.
keeps you interested in the vehicle and you less likely to ask for a deal or a percentage off the vehicle.
