At its origins the Christian faith does not ask you to blindly follow any kind of 'mythical creature' or teachings. At 25 (and despite having been raised as a Roman Catholic) I am only just beginning to discover how much I still have to learn (about all religions), but I've been pleasantly surprised at how my faith is growing.
Your faith and relationship with anything beyond this world is undoubtedly a very personal thing, but that needn't stop you from learning more of the factual history and origins of Christianity. A good place to start is the testimony of Jewish, Greek and Roman historians about Jesus and his followers. As silly as it sounds, I'd never really considered Jesus as a historical figure - it put a new spin on things and also helped the Bible to seem less inaccessible.
Just a suggestion if you're genuinely interested. But I suppose it's between you and God in the end (whatever you conceive him to be).

Christian believes in God believes he is right. Why he is believing in something to make it right. Strange, but this is what it is. God is spiritual and not mythical. He is a spirit invisible to human eye. You cannot see him just like you cannot see the sun too close you will die. The bible says when the new earth and new heaven is come, God will give us the light. The sun and moon are not necessary. However, don't forget the star you will still see them they will be untouched in the universe.

I believe I was created for a purpose.
I believe I have more love in my heart for a reason.
I believe humans are not living to their potential.
I believe I have a conscience.
I believe I have a soul.
I believe we could live in a better world.
I believe I don't need proof to see the wind, I feel it.
I believe I don't need proof of miracles, they happen everyday.
I believe believers and non believers are very similar.
I believe every persons opinion should be respected, even if I don't agree.
I believe the end is near.
I believe if you call God a mythical creature it is your choice.
I believe God will ask you why.
God Bless

So, you know the basis of the Christian faith is belief in the goodness of God and the teachings of Jesus Christ, I assume by your question. It is a matter of faith, and if you do not believe, that is your right, but you have no right to trash someone's spiritual leader as "mythical".
Christians (real ones) believe in the goodness of God, his everlasting love, and in the everlasting life of the soul. They believe he sent his only son to earth (Jesus Christ) to live among us and teach the people about love, forgiveness, kindness, etc. This is the kind of thing Christians believe in.

please tell me what you base this statement on. you've said believing in a mythical creature doesn't count....are you referring to God? you've not given any proof AGAINST His existence. And I've seen tons of proof that He is indeed incharge and the Creator of all things. so I would answer your question by saying, Christians do in fact believe in something.

I believe in God as He reveals Himself in the Bible. I believe that people who refer to the God of the Bible as mythical have never actually read this book and/or have read interpretations of this Book by aggressive anti-biblicalists like Richard Dawkins and Bertrand Russell.

Real Christians do. They believe there is JESUS to help them with everything they live. They have FAITH that will guide them with their walk with GOD. I am just learning that myself and to think I wasted my time believing in material things. Nothing is more joyous than knowing that JESUS will keep me safe in his heart and soul. Real Christians believe that FAITH in JESUS will get you through any obstacle in your path. The Bible says so. Read Hebrews Chapter 11. and (Verse 6)

I LOVE Mel's answer.
I believe that YOU are fearfully and wonderfully made with a purpose. That you are loved by God, and that you have been given gifts and talents.
I hope that you choose to use them for the purpose that God intended..
Blessings in Jesus.
