I started working with this girl a month ago, and I've gotten to completely know her for the most part. Shes a great girl and I want to let her know that I like her.
I gave her a hug last night after work and todays her birthday, but I don't have much time to get her something, will she get mixed messages by me not getting her anything at the beginning of the day?
Or am I just overthinking because i feel guilty over being lazy?

give her a birthday card, for someone you've known such a little time that will do fine, and it's the thought that counts. i think buying her a prezzie after a short time will be going a bit far

Well you have only known her a month!
Don't feel guilty about not getting her anything.
A girl should not expect something from someone that she has only known for a month unless she thinks that the person takes a lot of interest in her.
If she knows that you like her or senses that in anyway
then she might expect something otherwise no.
By getting her something for her birthday is a good way to tell her that you like her.

There is the possiblity of the mixed message syndrom. I would get her something. now i wouldnt go crazy or over extravigent on said gift, do you know somhing small and some what secretive she enjoys. Like for example, does she rather enjoy a pastry from a local bakery, if so get her a gift card and on the card write "3 scones reseved for you" or something to that effect. Dont go all out quit yet, but do show her that she wants and needs a romantic like you.

Your feeling guilty over being lazy. Make a joke about your being lazy though, self deprecating humor is the best and hopefully she'll get a kick out of that and understand. Though you would score more points getting her something.

you are not in a relationship with her so no ,,,,just a happy birthday and a hug will mean more to her than a gift from a shop ,,,or write her a poem,,,,and give her a single flower ,you must be able to do this much and she will love the thought

You don't have to get her a present just make sure she knows you remembered and that u care. That's most important.

i would atleast get her a birthday card. maybe even a little bunch of flowers, it would only take a minute to run in and get them, otherwise you might hurt her feelings.
