of huskies, if they would give their dog a ham bone from the ham that was served at new years?? I have a ham bone left, and my husky is 1yr old. 40 lbs.

i took the advice of the first answer: and yes, she loved the bone, had it completely gone in 30 minutes. I couldnt believe how fast.
she loves being outdoors but-----
she loves people too. I sometimes feel bad that she isnt indoors more often, but she is so jumpy and runs everywhere and jumps on everything, and my 3 cats hide. lol.

Well,sorry--I don't own a husky, but I gave my dog a ham bone once and then read later that that was a major no-no for any dog. They don't splinter, but they break apart pretty easily.

My dog seemed to be fine afterward, but knowing what I know now I wouldn't risk it.

Yeah, ham bones are fine. Just sortof watch him while he eats it, as you would any other bone, and then, you know, if he starts choking jump in. But I doubt that will happen, none of my dogs have ever had an issue with a bone. If it splinters, they just eat all the splinters too!

I am a pitt bull mom....my vet doesn't recommend giving dogs any type of bone, they can splinter in the stomach. Plus pork products are too rich for dogs.

No unless your going to sit there the whole time and watch the dog. Then take it away when the dog is finished. There are to many things that can happen with real bones.Splinter, choking, and the list goes on.Get him one from the store.

I wouldn't.. ham is to fatty and could cause him to get very sick....Pork can be too fatty and cause pancreatitis.....stick with beef...smile
