I always gargle with salt water and take amoxicillin or penicillin, but you have to drink plenty of water throughout the day. This always clear it up within 24 hours.

You can cure sore throat by getting a cup of water and put some salt in it and then gargle it. Do that every few hours until it's gone.

As mentioned above, gargle salt water. What always relieved my sore throat was just eating and getting something down my throat. Salty foods work best. A couple pieces of garlic bread once completely relieved my sore throat.

Most sore throats are caused by viruses and are usually accompanied by a cold or flu. But they can also be caused by bacteria, allergies and environmental irritation.

Instructions
STEP 1: Use a vaporizer or humidifier in your bedroom.
STEP 2: Gargle with warm salt water (1/4 tsp. salt in 8-oz. glass of water) several times a day.
STEP 3: Increase your fluid intake.
STEP 4: Drink tea or even plain hot water with honey.
STEP 5: Mix honey and lemon juice together and drink.
STEP 6: Use zinc lozenges for healing and pain relief.
STEP 7: Take a high-potency multivitamin and the herb echinacea to build up your immune system.
STEP 8: Reduce exposure to dust, cigarette smoke and other chemical irritants.
STEP 9: Avoid very spicy or hot foods.

If your sore throat was caused by a cold/flu you can try gargling with Anbosol, which is an antispetic and mild analgesic. A cold/flu is caused by a virus which Anbosol's antispetic properties can help. If the sore throat is caused by anything else, Anbosol's analgesic properties will decrease the pain until the sore throat goes away.
