I went there for 2 weeks for my honeymoon and I LOVED it. We went to Kauai first, that was definitely our favorite. Gorgeous. Then we went to the Big Island, it was okay. We finished in Maui, which is also gorgeous. I can't wait to go back.

Ratbag was there the same week I was last year. The weather was awful, but I go to Hawaii about 4 times a year, and for the most part it's very nice.
Honolulu is of course the busiest, and dirtiest, with the most traffic. If you are going to Honolulu, you might consider staying in Kailua in a B&B, and enjoying the really gorgeous side of that island.
Maui and Kauai are very very pretty islands, full of flowers. Maui has an 11000 ft crater, Haleakala. I recommend staying in the Kihei area for reasonable prices.
The Big Island, Hawaii, is spectacular!
Before you go I HIGHLY recommend buying one of the "revealed" books: Honolulu revealed, The big Island revealed, or Maui revealed. These books are excellent at helping you find off-the-beaten-track things to do and places to go.

We went to Kauai, Maui and Oahu in Feb/March 2006. It was just the worst holiday ever! It rained for the whole 3 weeks that we were there, to the extent that you coudn't swim in the sea because of the sewage, roads were washed out and the surf was about as big as a pimple on an rat's butt. The food was abysmal (just how many ways is it possible to serve burger and fries?), the hotels couldn't cope with the constant rain so all our clothes smelt mouldy and there was nothing to do (apart from the Polynesian 'cultural' centre - a Mormon enterprise..... need we say more?). We were so glad to get back to the airport, even with the prospect of a trans-pacific and trans-atlantic flight in the same day!

I spent a week in Hawaii on Waikiki beach and totally thought it sucked. Filthy town, rude people, would never go back

Ive never been to Hawaii, but would love to go, it looks great from what I have seen in pictures and on the telly..................
