My mother in law says she is going to teach me, although i really dont like turkey.

So sorry Lady bird, i dont know how to cook it either:(

DON'T LEAVE IT SITTING OUT ON COUNTER--it's not safe. If you have to thaw it, either put in sink with cold water or thaw in refrigerator. Best information about cooking it, is probably the Butterball web site, if they don't know best way, then noone does. And make sure that you refrigerate leftovers, get stuffing out of turkey. Good luck

If your turkey is still frozen put it in the oven and let it thaw out while it cooks.

fill your sink with water, to completely thaw the turkey. then put the turkey in a roasting pan, cover with melted butter, really rub it in. then stuff it. salt pepper whatever you like. then remember 1 hour per pound.... 5 pounds five hours and so forth... baste every fifteen minutes or so with melted butter.... and natural juices... maybe not every fifteen minutes but definitely often... it should come out perfect... i usually cook it around 400 degrees. good luck

at 350 degrees, I think it is, one hour for every 4 pounds. But at this setting, you can not go wrong. Just wait till the outside is a little brown then check it being done or not.
