Make sure you are using a stain "remover" and that if it is in the carpet or anything with layers that you are soaking the solution all the way through all layers. What is happening in that your "shampoo" is bleaching the stain, not removing it and it seeps back through other layers or attracts dust and other things normally in the air and shows right back up.

Growing up, we had dogs everywhere in my house. If one has and accident, my mom always blots it up (fresh), then sprays vinegar water on it, and sprinkles it with baking soda. You don't want a huge mound of baking soda, just sprinkle an even layer on there, and if you need to put a chair or something over it do so, but you need to let it dry for about two or three days. when those days are over, simply vacuum it all up. the stain should be greatly deminished, if not all together gone, (you may need to do this twice) and the smell is gone as well. The problem is, that the stain is in the carpet padding. This usually always taked care of our stain problems, and it saves you from having to go out and buy new product or a light.

If your dog is not going there again and again, and that may be causing the stain to return. Try Nature's Miracle. It is an enzyme cleaner. If your dog is continually going there, the Nature's Miracle will stop that too. Most pet stores carry it. But you have to make sure it gets through the carpet into the padding. So you will probably have to use it a few times to get the urine completely out. It works on any biological stain...blood, grass, etc. I have used it for pet stains as well as in my wash to get out other stains.
