This a already a war on time. He cannot defeat God and so he is trying to take as many souls with him into the Lake of Fire.
This isn't some movie and he will come back with avengence. When Jesus returns this will all be a done deal.
We have since the flood been moving toward this "event".
Jesus will return to once and for all defeat Satan. Its his JOB to get these souls to go down with him. That's why he has done a good job convincing people there is no such thing as God. If you don't believe he has already won you and doesn't have to do much. Its the believers he attacks, its the people on the fence he attacks. The non believers they are not a threat they think they came from apes . . . . .
God Bless

The Bible teaches that Satan is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. He appears to always have an appetite for destruction which is due to his hatred for God and hence God's creation whom Satan tortures to get back at God. It is this hatred that fuels his passions.
When Satan was cast out of heaven because of his rebellion against God along with his angels. So he has a large army working for him while he is the mastermind.
In fact the book of Revelation says that Satan will try one more time to overthrow God's kingdom but he will meet his doom - he will be destroyed...devoured...and will cease to exist.
The bible does say that they are tormented forever and ever..however...this is a figure of speech...conveying they idea that it will be or seem to be for a long time...but they will be burnt up eventually. This is also emphasised in Malachi when the wicked is said to be burnt up to stubble and not root or branch of them will be left.
There are signs that tell us that the world is coming to an end and Satan knows he has but a short time. Seeing he has a little time left he great zeal to torment us now.
However, in the final conflict, God is the victor, Satan is the loser, and all those who are on God's side will live eternally (without a tormentor).

Satan job is not torturing people. Hell was designed for the angels that have rejected God. It is not comfortable to us humans. Satan's job is to get as much company as possible for his place. He loves his work. He didn't like his old job... reflecting the glory of God.

When God talks of Banishing satan to hell forever, the meaning is, satan has no say in anything anymore. He cannot decide to go to war against God. His fate is sealed. The End.

No. God and Satan do not live with our constraints of time and place.
Satan is evil and wants to bring as many souls with him into eternal torment as he can.

Like all good leaders, he knows how to delegate the
work to others. Just like the power-mongers on
Earth. Who get the masses stirred up over false prides
like racism, nationalism, and religious differences. And
while they are all killing each other. The leaders of evil sit around and eat caviar, drink champaigne, and make
witty comments!

No and there is no such thing as "the devil made me do it". We've all heard those words but wisdom tells us that saying pretty much says I don't have to repent.
